the birthday dress

Remember this post where I asked you to help me decide which dress I would buy for my birthday? Well, here you can see which one I chose!

I did go for a "safe" choice; I bought a dress that I already tried on, so I knew it would fit me. I'm always scared when I buy things online that the garment won't fit me and in this case, it would be a problem, since I really needed a dress for the 21st. Also, it was totally in my budget (about 31 euro). I got a lot of compliments and lot of people now say to me that they see my dress everywhere in magazines! Apparantly "plissé" dresses and skirts are totally in right now! And the mint/turquoise color too! So I think I made the right choice.

The only minus is that since I'm very petite, I had to wear very high heels (also from Forever21! here), otherwise the dress was too long. Since I drank a litte (too much) bit of alcohol :p, I didn't feel the pain in my feet. Problem is, I couldn't walk for about 5 days (still can't) so I had the doctor come and he made a whole in my nail and stuff (very ugly and PAINFUL). I've been wearing heels for more than one week (this really needs an applause, since I can't live one day without wearing heels). I even wore All Stars on my birthday (snif snif). Soooo, the lesson here is: beware of heels. I will, for sure.

Today is my birthday ! The weather couldn't be more fantastic (NOT).

diy: floral headband

I was so inspired by the previous post that I HAD to make one myself! It is so easy that buying is a bit embarassing! But then, it is possible that making one yourself costs more than buying! I used fake flowers, and sometimes they can be expensive (especially if you take good quality flowers). I found a very usefull video on YouTube where all the steps are explained (the tutoiral start around 2:14). I did this without a glue gun but with normal glue (Gutermann glue) and it worked perfectly! If you make one of your onw, pleaaaaaase show me the result! I'd loooove to see it! Pictures of me wearing this adorable headband wil come soon, I promise! The weather should just get better...

 PS: It's my birthday in two days!!

outfit #67: silk flower

Hey!

I'm writing a paper since one week so I didn't really have the opportunity to dress up! Sweatpants it is! Buuut... It's almost over. I should be finished today or tomorrow. Then, I'll fully concentrate on my birthday party. I think I know whick dress it will be, I'll keep you posted :D.

I bought this silky men's shirt a while ago in Episode and I was kind of lost with it, because it's so big. Now, I think I found a greaaaat solution: wear it as a skirt. What do you think? By the way, I totally fell in love with this jacket when I first saw it in Pull&Bear, but the price tag was disappointing :(. Fortunately I found it after the sales in my size and for only 30 euro. I was soooo happy!

Here I am again with my wishlist ! I know my birthday is than more than two weeks but I just can't help it !I just love to make my own wishlist. I don't even know if my family and friends will even know about this (so this is kind of useless actually, haha).

The feminine eggplant dress ! I just fell in love with the Dolce&Gabanna dress when I saw it on the cover of a Spanish magazing (Glamour I think). Couldn't be happier when I saw a similar one at Romwe, but it's still a bit too expensive for a summer dress (I live in Belgium, remember?).

I'm desperately looking for vintage Denim jacket ! It goes with everything. Found one in a vintage store but it costs 45 euro. For a vintage jacket? No thanks! I have (and will) find a cheaper one! You can buy yours here, if you want! Didn't find cheaper...

As you might know I have a thing for colorful beanies (I have a red one and pink one)! And God, I fell in love with this Alexander Wang one ! It's so beautiful and expensive, haha! Buy it here.

I saw those camera's at UO and the design is so amazing, don't you think? Apparently they make beautiful pictures. Would love to try them out! But the design totally sold me!

the choice: the birthday dress

Hi !

As some of you might know, my birthday is coming up ! I'm turning 20 on the 26th of April and I have some mixed feelings. I'm happy that it's almost my birthday (so all attention on me on my special day), but I don't want to have the first '2' in my age! All this ant-aging creams and articles about how to stay young, really begins to frighten me. Society is so focused on youth wich makes a lot of pressure to young people like me, don't you think?

Anyway, let's talk about a 'happy part' of my birthday! I'm throwing a party! Can't be more excited (and stressed!). There will be a theme and I was thinking about 'colors'. Imagine a bunch of people wearing 2 or more bright colors in one room, haha! But then there is the problem that requires your help! Help me choose my birthday dress!
