outfit #42: back to blog

Hi everyone!

As you may have noticed, I wasn't very active this summer and I apologized. It is quit difficult to blog when you're abroad. Anyways I'm not going to brag about how busy I was and stuff, like some blogger do (or about the weather...). Those aren't my major problems.

I must say I was thinking quiting blogging after I came back from France (Surf camp) because I kind of realized this fashion blogging world if just fake. I was there chilling with my friends and nobody cared how I looked or which brand I was wearing. It made me realise that there is more than only fashion. There are so many blogger - some talented and fashionable and some do it for the wrong reasons. There is way to much competition. It kind of depressed me when I saw how "wonderful" Andy's (from StyleScrapbook) and Carolina's (from FashionSquad) life were. Their ony problem is the weather "Oh God, I couldn't wear my Alexander Wang shoes today becase it was raining :(" or how tiiiiired they are because of Fashion Week. It really gets on my nerves. Don't they have bigger issues? I think they reflect such a bad image of the fashion and blog world. Of course everyone wants to be a blogger! So, I thought about fashion and how superficial it actually is, how serious people look at it, like it will find a cure for breastcancer... I don't know, I have some mixed feelings... Anyways, sorry if I have bothered you with my non-sense. I still love Fashion, but I'm aware there is more than only Vogue and fashion week...

Anyways, this is what I wore last night :p. I took some pictures yesterday but the lighting was veeery bad so I re-did them today. I went for a drink with to friends. :)

I hope you have a nice day and that the weather is how you like it :D.

sea, surf and sun

I had the most wonderful vacation ever in Moliets, France. As you know, a friend won an MTV contest! She won a 7 day trip to Moliets to learn how to surf. Everything was included (transport, lessons, surf material, food, parties, tent, etc.). I met the nicest people from all around Belgium and Holland which I'll for sure keep in touch (we have already made a reunion with the Belgians). The atmosphere was amaziiiing: I'll always remember the chillin' in fat boys (huge pillow), the bronzing, the surfing 'or the attempt to), the eating (mmh), the drinking (maybe too much..), the partying, going to the beach, the aquagym, the jaccuzi, the swimmingpool, the everyday nectarine, the T mission, the theme party (I was Hippie Helena - we had to disguis with the first letter of our name), San Sebastien, the beack parties, the Open, the blondie bitches (don't ask :D), the drinking games, the chocolate obsession of a friend of mine, the f*cking river, the painful walk to the beach, the storm, the movie we saw, the last night, ...

the egg

Hello!

I'm currently working at my mom's office (called The Egg) in Brussels so I don't really have time to make some outfit pictures (because when I get back home the lighting is very bad and I'm very tired). Tonight I have a goodbye party ( a friend of mine is going to study in the US) and, OMG, a friend of mine has won a trip to the south of France to a beach and surf camp for 2 people and she invited me, hiiiiii! So exciteeeeed. So I'll be gone until next Sunday. Hopefuly I'll get to take an outfit picture before I leave. The pictures you see is one I made in Photoshop. I'm really into it right now, I'm trying some different styles and co. Do you like it?

Thanks again for your lovely comments and hello to the new followers :D!

outfit #39: strange fruit

I have been so busy lately. I went with my byfriend to the seaside of the Netherlands for 2 days, then I went directly after that shopping with my grand father in Antwerp (it was my belated birthday present!) and then I came back home. Then, I went to see my grand mother in Ghent (whole my family, apart from my mom and dad, don't live where I live). Result: lots of money spent in transport (I took 8 different trains), lots of great food (restaurant) and lots of new clothes (cant' wait to show you). Since I traveled that much (hum), I lost my ID (I just got a new one grrr) and didn't do things I had to do. I also thought I lost my camera, but it's a my bf (ouf!). Which means that I couldn't take any pictures with my camera, so I did with my laptop, haha! So, sorry for the bad quality!

The title of this outfit comes from the song "Strange Fruit" from Billie Holiday, which is such a beautiful and at the same time morbid song... Listen to it.
